Italian Olive Oil: From Sacred Grove to Artful Presentation

A discussion between premiere US distributor of quality Italian olive oil, Olio2Go; Rome-based art curator Dr. Cornelia Lauf, and Italian artist Francesco Ciavaglioli.

Olives have been featured in the art of the Mediterranean for thousands of years. Depicted in many artistic media, and presented in culinary records over millenia, olive oil is a mythic substance, as is its branch and tree.

The collaboration between Agricola Due Leoni + Olio2Go features the work of artist Francesco Ciavaglioli. Olive branches are depicted in the style of watercolor paintings, in order to create a landscape suspended between nature and pattern. The image is digitally manipulated, in a rhythmic and mathematical way, while atmosphere is lent by the impression of an aerial perspective.
